Step 1: Head over to the official website of UIDAI at uidai.gov.in

Step 3: You need to fill in some basic details before you can check your current status of aadhar card. Firstly, you’ll have to add the 12 digit Aadhaar card number in the first field and URN/SRN number in the second field. (You must have got your URN/SRN number when you applied for the change).

Step 4: Now, click on the “Get Status” button.

Step 5: You’ll now be able to see your update status in a new screen. For some reason, if you are not able to see the status you will have to wait for a few more days as it takes 15 days to review your application. But, sometimes it takes longer time period so please wait.

Step 6: If the status is rejected don’t worry you can reapply it by going to any of your nearest aadhar card center.

If you don’t have the time to visit your nearest aadhar card office you can now check the correction status directly online. Follow the below mentioned steps to do it:

Step 1: Go to this link https://resident.uidai.gov.in/check-aadhaar-status

Step 2: Check for the acknowledgment slip which you must have got from the aadhar center when you applied for the update or correction

Step 3: Once you click on the link you’ll be asked to enter your Enrollment number (EID) and Date/Time from your acknowledgment slip

Step 4: After you are done filling in the details enter the captcha code shown in the black box.

Step 5: You’ll now be able to see the status. You can go to the nearest aadhar office and collect the receipt or directly download it from your computer.

How To Download The Aadhaar Card?

Here is a step-by-step solution on how to download the aadhar card.

Step 1: First go to this website https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/

Step 2: You’ll now see an option that says “I have enrollment ID or Aadhaar” select the one that you have with you right now.

Step 3: Once selected, fill in all the required details and fill in the security captcha code.

Step 4: Once you fill in the captcha code and other details you’ll be sent an OTP on your registered mobile number. Enter that OTP and click on “Verify OTP” to download the aadhar card.

How To Get The E-Aadhaar Password?

As soon as you’ll try to open your e-Aadhaar card which you just downloaded following the above steps you’ll be asked a password to access it. The password is first 4 capital letters of the name and birth year.
